About the campus

A local science centre built with the community

Kamala Science Campus was established in 2066 BS (2009 AD) as a community-based campus in Dhungrebas, Kamalamai, Sindhuli, in Nepal's Bagmati Province. It grew out of a local effort — supported by Kamalamai Municipality and community stakeholders — to widen access to science education in Sindhuli District.

The campus is affiliated with Tribhuvan University for bachelor-level study and is recognised by the University Grants Commission of Nepal. Teaching is supported by laboratories, a library and computer facilities for regular coursework and practicals.

Alongside teaching, the campus extends scholarship support to students from marginalised and economically weak backgrounds, and maintains basic academic and student-support facilities for regular study.
